Key Concepts for Facilitating for SEL Development

Go through the presentation slides (and watch the videos) below to get a brief overview of the key facilitation elements of strong SEL development and programming in the classroom.

Developing Differentiated SEL Lesson Plans

No matter what SEL curriculum/program you are trying to implement in your school, it is important to be able to differentiate and personalize your curriculum to fit your particular students and staff.  Developing your own supplemental lessons can go a long way towards stronger development and application of SEL skills with your students.  The presentation below can walk you through key considerations and steps to create simple, effective, and teacher-differentiated SEL lessons for your site.

Follow the link above for access to a simple SEL Lesson Plan template with guiding questions/sections to help you quickly create effective SEL mini-lessons.

PLT Lab Facilitation Tiers Rubric

Clink the link above to get a downloadable PLT Lab "Facilitation Tiers" Rubric to get an understanding of the different levels of PLT Lab implementation (just like with the students, it follows the "Professionalism-Ownership-Leadership" development pipeline, where Tier 1 starts with general compliance, working up towards Ownership of material and then Leadership by creating and modifying to personalize to specific student populations).
